Predicts risk of dose-related toxicity to 5-FU therapy
Specimen Required

Lavender (EDTA), pink (K2EDTA), FFPE

Patient Preparation
  • Sample Collection: 2 Tubes / EDTA Blood / 2 mL per tube or FFPE
  • Specimen Preparation: Do not freeze. Transport 3 mL whole blood. (Min: 1 mL)
  • Storage/Transport Temperature: Refrigerated
  • Unacceptable Conditions
    • Plasma or serum.
    • Heparinized specimens.
    • Frozen specimens in glass collection tubes.
  • Remarks: –
  • Stability: Ambient: 72 hours; Refrigerated: 1 week; Frozen: 1 month.
Methodology

This test is an in vitro diagnostic test based on allele-specific amplification (ARMS PCR) in multiplex reactions that detects clinically relevant single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in the DPYD.
